Rund Abdelfatah was born in the United States to Palestinan- American parents. Currently journalist who co-hosts the Throughline podcast on NPR. She studied anthropology and Spanish at Princeton University, graduating with a BA before beginning her career in journalism. She started working as a journalist in Washington with BBC, covering local and domestic politics at their Washington Bureau. Eventually, she moved to NPR, first as an intern before becoming a producer for NPR’s podcasts, including How I Built This, TED Radio Hour, NPR Politics Podcast, Code Switch, and Pop Culture Happy Hour. In February 2019, Rund, along with Ramitin Arablouei, pitched an idea for a history podcast, that spotlights the stories Western history books neglect to tell. The podcast, Throughline, is the first podcast Rund has hosted and has become widely successful within the NPR community and beyond.
