Maryam Amir is an Ustadha who specializes in spiritual connections, social issues, and women’s rights. She started her education studying Child and Adolescent Development at the San Jose State University and abstained a second Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies from Al Azhar University. Ustadha Maryam also has a Masters in Education from UCLA, focusing on the effects of mentorship rooted in Critical Race Theory. She spent a year in Cairo, learning Arabic and studying the Quran. Outside of her academic work, she is a successful writer, publishing pieces for Virtual Mosque and Al Jumuah. She is also a lecturer at the Hikmah Institute and a hafiz, having memorized the Quran. Ustadha Maryam frequently travels for work, engaging with different communities on social issues and women’s empowerment.
