Margari Aziza Hill (@margari.hill) is a community organizer, blogger, professor, and writer. She studied History at Santa Clara University, graduating with her BA in 2003 before beginning her Masters Degree in History of Middle East and Islamic Africa at Stanford University. She completed her MA in 2006, with a research focus on colonial perceptions of mixed race identifies in Nigeria and anti-colonial resistant in Sudan during the 20th century. Margari cofounded and now serves as the Executive Director of Muslim Anti-Racism Collaborative (@muslimarc), a human rights education organization dedicated to raising awareness of racial justice issues within the ummah or Muslim community. In addition to her work with @muslimarc, she also serves on the Advisory Council of Islam and works as a freelance writer, with works published in Time, the Huffington Post, Al Jazeera English, and ‘How We Fight White Supremacy’. Margari has won a number of awards, including The Council of American Islamic Relations 2020 Muslim of the Year Award, MPAC’s 2015 Change Maker Award, and Khadija bint Khuwaylid Relief Foundation Lifetime Humanitarian Award.
