Kubra Dagli was born in February 17, 1996 in Isparta, Turkey. She is most famous for her skills in taekwondo, which have won her multiple championships and awards. She began her career in sports early on, starting with karate but ultimately switching to Taekwondo when she was 13 years old. Her uncle trained her in the beginning but eventually she transitioned to a new Taekwondo coach. In 2016, she and her partner won gold in the over 18 section in the World Poomsae Championships held in Peru in 2016. After her win in 2016, she received extensive media coverage, which mainly focused on her hijab. She responded to the coverage by saying “they don't speak of my success, but of my headscarf. I don’t want this. Our success should be discussed.” Between 2018 and 2020, Kubra has won either the gold or silver medal in every national championship she participated in.
